Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in Buffalo, NY
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is not simply about symptom reduction or “another treatment option.”
For many people, it becomes a deeply meaningful experience. It can be one that can open access to emotion, insight, healing, perspective, and parts of the self that may have felt unreachable through traditional therapy alone.
In my work, I approach ketamine with deep respect for both the science and the sacredness of the process.
While ketamine has gained significant attention for its ability to support depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional suffering, I believe the medicine experience itself matters profoundly. The environment, therapeutic relationship, preparation, intention-setting, music, nervous system safety, and integration afterward are not secondary pieces of the work, rather they are the work.
Too often, ketamine treatment can become overly medicalized or transactional. My approach is different.
I view this work as relational, intentional, experiential, and deeply human.
With nearly two decades of clinical experience and advanced training in trauma-informed modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic approaches, and psychedelic integration, I help clients navigate these experiences with depth, safety, meaning-making and not simply symptom management.
In addition to providing KAP for individual clients, I also train clinicians in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and collaborate closely with Dr. Gregory Loewen, a trauma-informed physician experienced in psychedelic and ketamine-based care.
Oral vs. Intramuscular (IM) Ketamine
In collaboration with Dr. Loewen, I offer both oral and intramuscular (IM) ketamine options depending on your needs, goals, comfort level, and medical appropriateness.
While both routes can be beneficial, IM ketamine often allows for a more consistent and carefully titrated experience. Because absorption is significantly more reliable than oral dosing, it can create a deeper and more immersive therapeutic state for many individuals.
Clients frequently describe IM sessions as:
more emotionally impactful
more conducive to deep inward exploration
more effective for accessing non-ordinary states of consciousness
more meaningful from a transformational/spiritual perspective
That said, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Some individuals prefer a gentler or more gradual experience, and oral ketamine can still be profoundly therapeutic and effective.
Together, we thoughtfully determine what approach feels most aligned for your nervous system, goals, and readiness.
Ketamine as More Than a Medical Treatment
While ketamine can absolutely provide meaningful relief from depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional rigidity, many people also experience something deeper:
a reconnection to self, softening of long-held defenses, a sense of openness, perspective, or possibility
moments of awe, grief, beauty, clarity, or spiritual connection
For some, these experiences feel psychological and
for others, emotional, existential, or spiritual.
I hold space for all of it.
My work is particularly aligned with individuals who want this process to be approached with intentionality and depth, not just as a quick fix, but instead as an opportunity for genuine change and healing.
This often includes:
thoughtful preparation before sessions
creating ritual and intention around the experience
carefully curated music and environmental support
trauma-informed therapeutic guidance during the process
deep integration afterward so insights can become embodied and sustainable in everyday life
The goal is not simply to “have an experience,” but to create meaningful and lasting shifts in how you relate to yourself, your emotions, your relationships, and your life.
KAP May Be Supportive If You Feel…
stuck in patterns that insight alone has not shifted
emotionally disconnected or numb
trapped in chronic anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma responses
spiritually disconnected or longing for deeper meaning
exhausted from years of trying to “think” your way into healing
ready for a more experiential and transformative approach

Sliding Scale Fee Structure
I use a pay-it-forward sliding scale model in an effort to balance accessibility with the sustainability of offering this work responsibly and ethically. I recognize that financial accessibility is not always reflected solely by annual or household income, and that factors such as debt, caregiving responsibilities, cost of living, financial support systems, medical expenses, and overall access to resources can significantly impact what feels manageable for someone.
I ask clients to thoughtfully and honestly self-assess the tier that feels both accessible and equitable for their current circumstances. Higher tiers help support the continued availability of reduced-cost access for others seeking this work.
